Dr. Idorenyin Charles Itauma (Dr. Idee) is an Urgent Care Clinician working in the NHS.

Dr. Idorenyin Charles Itauma (Dr. Idee) is an Urgent Care Clinician working in the NHS. Graduated in 2004 from Nigeria as a Medical Doctor with postgraduate studies in Scotland. She holds a Master’s degree in Occupational Medicine (MSc) from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland and an NHS

Leadership certification.

Dr Idee has over 17 years of experience in Accident and Emergency as well as extensive experience in Acute Medicine, including critical care, Rehabilitation Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Gastroenterology, Acute Stroke care, and Elderly care Medicine. She has worked in various Emergency departments within the country like Manchester Foundation Trust, and Blackpool teaching hospitals and now working as an Associate Specialist in the Urgent Care unit of Lincolnshire Community Hospital Trust. Dr Idee has always been passionate about the well-being of the Black Minority ethnicity and this passion led her to start educating and teaching the African community about the myths and the hindrances that affect their health and well-being and working with victims of religious abuse supporting them to gain emotional wellness.

She has been teaching on different platforms, community groups, and social media pages with a dedicated page called The Health Gospel for over 7 years.

She is the Founder and CEO of The Health Gospel CIC in the North East of Lincolnshire, a community interest group that aims to change the mindset of immigrants for better outcomes.

She has led the Organisation to support immigrants who have come to live and work in the area by providing a safe space for them to express their concerns, ask questions, and get help when needed. She has led the organization to support the community in seeking job opportunities for those without Jobs by collaborating with companies, organisations, and employees to recruit from the community.

She has led the team to stand against the injustices that surround the health and care sponsorship visas and supported the victims and their families through the pains and horrors of the challenges. She has helped through collaboration with various organizations resettle more than 50 families into

work and community life.

She is a voice for the Black community to speak for them and advocate for change when needed

providing the necessary information the community needs to settle into their new environment.

She started the parenting workshop for immigrant families, 3rd year running which she supports parents and equips them to raise balanced African Children in the UK thereby reducing the risk of children being removed from their homes.

She noted that Men, women, and children struggle differently with cultural differences when it comes to integration and their needs are different, she started a support group for Men, women, and young people within the community. These platforms are led by community members with lived experiences to guide and support these groups while integrating into the community.

Dr. Idee and The Health Gospel are involved in research that benefits the Black minority ethnicity and works with healthcare board like the Integrated Care Board ICB to deliver these

services and encourage participation of our community with aim to close the gap of Health

inequality within the BME community.

Dr. Idee Believes that immigration should not lead to loss of identity therefore she led the organisation to organise the first-ever Africa Day Event in the North East of Lincolnshire seeing over 1000 attendees to the event which featured African music, attires, designs,

artwork, clothing, styles, and food.

  1. Idee leads the Cohesion workshop to support internationally recruited staff in

organisation and their team leader to understand Cultural differences and better outcomes for the organizations.

Dr. Idee is leading the organization to become a UK-wide provider of support for immigrant families who have come to live and work in England.

Dr Idee is a mother to 3 lovely children and describes herself as just being human.
